OHS Rules around multimedia equipment

 How to keep Safe around the libraries Multimedia equipment

 To keep everyone safe and our facilities in good working order the library has the following rules:

• Please refrain from eating or drinking in the library or while using take home multimedia equipment. Sealed water bottles are permitted.
• Please do not unplug or change equipment plugs. If new equipment is needed please seek staff assistance.
• When hiring our take home multimedia equipment please do not plug power cords into live power points – turn the power off first
• When connecting / disconnecting power points please  make sure the power is first switched off at the wall and grip equipment by the plugs and refrain from tugging on the cords.
• When using equipment at home make sure that all cords are wound out fully to prevent overheating. Please make sure that cord are contained safely to avoid tripping hazards.
• The dreamatorium library recommends the use of power boards with surge protectors (available for hire) when using our multimedia equipment.
• When in the library please be aware of our fire evacuation plans and the locations of our fire extinguishers.
• Please use the multimedia equipment safely by following operational and safety instructions found in the user manual.
